About This Role
We're looking for an experienced Shopify developer to lead e-commerce projects, mentor team members, and build exceptional online stores. You'll work with brands and agencies to create high-performance Shopify experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Shopify development projects from concept to launch
- Build custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Develop custom Shopify apps and integrations
- Implement advanced e-commerce features and conversion optimizations
- Optimize stores for performance, SEO, and mobile experience
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
- Communicate with clients and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Train and enable junior team members
- Stay current with Shopify platform updates and e-commerce trends
- Estimate project timelines and manage deliverables
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges
Requirements
- 3-10 years of professional web development experience
- 2+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
- Expert knowledge of Liquid templating language
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify APIs
- Experience with Shopify theme development and customization
- Deep understanding of e-commerce SEO and conversion optimization
- Experience with payment gateway integrations
- Excellent communication skills - ability to explain and simplify technical concepts
- Experience with chat interfaces and technical communication
- Portfolio of successful Shopify stores delivered
- Personal projects demonstrating curiosity and continuous learning
- Projects built outside regular work demonstrating experimentation
- Proficiency with development tools (Cursor, VS Code)
- Ability to write code and solve problems independently
- Experience training and mentoring developers
- High ownership and proactive problem-solving
- Pixel-perfect attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience with Shopify Plus and advanced features
- Knowledge of Shopify app development
- Familiarity with React or Vue.js for custom storefronts
- Understanding of headless commerce architectures

- Contributions to Shopify community or open-source projects
